I’ve been hired for a company I don’t know anything about, and make me do the most weird things. I don’t even know what I’m a supervisor of, no one knows, so I just stand there all day, not knowing what to do. But still accept the paycheck. Bite me.
Is there any movie about this guy’s life? ID WATCH THE SHIT OUT OF IT. He’s such an interesting character, tbh. I don’t care, I just kinda fell in admiration with the dude. Or tell me series or works that has any characters based off him and his youth??? Is there any??? Or maybe a good biography about him?
One day, when we are all old and moving on with our lives, the news is going to come and throw us twenty years into the past. Our past. Things we have forgotten will suddenly become vivid memories- The password to that Tumblr account, the skype friends, the head canons, the fanfiction..
When the news comes, you’ll be with your kids, and you’ll cry harder than you have in your entire life. Because while you are mourning the author, you are also mourning a part of your soul, the part that misses the world you created for yourself around these books, like the writing and the friendships and how raw every single emotion felt because these books taught you how to feel like a part something, because we were a family. And we still are.
When the news comes, you’ll leave the room, your confused children following you to make sure you’re okay. You’ll go into your attic, where there’s a box with everything Potter related that got sealed away for convenience. It’ll now have a permanent spot in your home.
You pick your house scarf out of the box and wrap it round your neck and you smile through the tears. You hand your kids jumpers with the crest on them and tell them to put them on, before taking the books that made you who you are today and telling your kids that “it’s time for a story” and as you retell the story for the thousandth time, you fall in love with the characters all over again and pass on this feeling to your children. You pass on the legacy.
That night, you let out one more tear and a smile and say your final goodbyes to Joanne Rowling, the woman who wrote. You sleep comforted with the thought that she’s with Lupin and Tonks, Lily and James, Sirius and Fred. And that night? You are not alone, because thousands of adults cry together, holding the same nine words close to their hearts.

It’s kinda sad??? But at the same time, I dare say sometimes you learn as much from a fanfic as you would from an original work. I mean. Every story can help you grow, every story gives birth to a new thought in your head, and those new thoughts are the seeds for great things.
i feel like reading fanfic has kind of broken my desire to read published stories bc like theyre so bland tbh like. where the hell am i gonna get queer android romance in a bookstore. who writes about past assassins working together in a coffeeshop. all i see are straight white people making out like really like REALLY
So, as luck would have it, my tenure at a local restaurant has paid off. A person who works there has been rather friendly with me since I go there quite a bit. Turns out, he’s been promoted to crew leader / recruiter and now that they’re hiring, he shoved an application in my face and told me if I filled it out I’m 90% likely to be hired.
The hours themselves are flexible and I’ll be making a few bucks above minimum wage, so I decided I’d try to start out small and work my way up to full time. He put himself as a reference and is going to prioritize my application so I should be expecting a call sometime soon to set up an interview.
All well and dandy except for the fact that I’m a horrendous-looking gremlin right now.
Any money I get, usually goes to food and what not. With this job, I’d be able to sustain myself/possibly save for the most part unless something happens with the rent. We live in low income housing so if I start making money, the rent is bound to go up, and if my dad can’t cover it, it’ll come out of my paycheck.
However, I neglect to mention that I actually do not have anything to fucking wear?? There’s alot of things I’ve been putting off in order to keep fed.
Things like a haircut and clothes and what not. The person who referred me told me that if I can at the very least, show up looking professional, then I’ll have the job.
But that’s kind of hard to do when you have maybe at least 6 clothing items in total.
I need shoes the most. Like… badly.
I’ve been wearing these for 5 months. They’re some strange knock off brand I got at the local trade center near my house because I was in desperate need of something to wear on my feet.
I don’t have socks either. So anytime I go out, my feet end up covered in black dust. They’re absolutely torn apart.
Besides shoes, I need shirts and pants, and shorts especially due to it being summer. I don’t know how much any of this will cost me but I know that there are certain deals and what not I can get at walmart so I don’t think it should be /too/ much to get me clothed.
I’m coming to you guys with this because if I can get this job, it means I’ll finally have income. Which means I won’t be dependent on anyone but myself. This job also has lasik, dental, and health insurance benefits.
While donations have been keeping me afloat, I don’t want to live like that.
I don’t have money to buy any of these things or afford a haircut or any of that.
And it’s come to this point where I need to ask for help in landing this job. I need to take an Uber to Walmart and go shopping for basic necessities.
And worse case scenario, if for some reason I don’t land the job, I’ll at least have clothes to wear, but it’s pretty much been offered to me on a silver platter.
So I’m counting on this being the last time I ever come to you guys for financial assistance. I would very much appreciate any sort of funding towards this so I can finally have an income to take care of myself. I feel like at minimum, I need at least $100 for multiple pairs of pants, shoes, socks, etc… and perhaps toiletries what not.
So if you’re able to throw any sum of money my way, it would be beyond appreciated. This is the break I’ve been looking for, for the longest time and I could really use the help.
